What is the Black Lung Disease? – Discussing the Symptoms
A person diagnosed with black lung or pneumoconiosis has problems such as tightening the chest, spitting black mucus, and breathing problems. The accumulated dust damages the lung tissue and affects the normal oxygen absorption of the body. However, if you crave too much dust every day, macrophages get overwhelmed, triggering the production of chemicals that can scar your lungs. People are regularly exposed to large amounts of dust particles in the mine and suffer from more inflammation and scarring of the lung tissue.
The prognosis of this disease is highly depends while you were working for a coal mine in the industry. Some patients also cough black mucus and experience rheumatoid arthritis. Leaving the disease untreated often leads to premature death. If left unattended, the pieces of dust accumulated in the lungs consolidate together and cause more extensive damage to your respiratory system.
The disease can also be fatal. Although experts continue to study black lung disease, they have failed to find a cure. Because of the government's failure to recognize the need to protect miners from contracting black lung disease, the number of miners suffering from this disease has increased significantly in recent years. If you suspect you are infected with coal-working Pneumoconiosis (CWP), you should consult your doctor immediately.
Do not ignore the signs, especially if you suspect contamination. Having black lung disease can be a living nightmare for both you and your family. With early diagnosis, you can avoid further organ damage. There is no cure for CWP. Doctors can only prescribe medications that can help you manage your symptoms.
